BTS ARMY, get ready—your moment is coming to the big screen. The much-anticipated documentary Forever We Are Young is officially set for theatrical release on July 30, 2025, and this time, the spotlight isn’t on BTS alone, but on the fans who helped turn them into a global sensation.

Distributed by Trafalgar Releasing, this new feature documentary explores the cultural, emotional, and historical impact of ARMY—the fandom behind BTS—through powerful storytelling and never-before-seen footage. Directed by Grace Lee and Patty Ahn, the film premiered at SXSW earlier this year to early acclaim.

“There is no BTS without ARMY and no ARMY without BTS,” the directors said in a joint statement. “We’re excited for audiences to go on an emotional journey and meet a fandom that made us laugh, cry, and think.”

A Global Fandom Like No Other

The film captures BTS ARMY from every corner of the globe, including fans at ReactorCon in Lewisville, Texas, and a Seoul-based dance instructor who teaches BTS choreography. These real-life stories offer insight into a fandom that is not just loyal—but revolutionary.

According to the official synopsis:

"Forever We Are Young dives into the passionate fandom that catapulted 21st-century pop icons BTS into a global household name. Defying stereotypes, ARMY is an intergenerational, culturally savvy, and socially active movement as diverse as the world itself."

The film also explores ARMY’s role in activism, unity, and cultural change, painting a portrait of a fanbase that transcends music and redefines what it means to support an artist.

Behind the Scenes: How the Film Came to Life

The documentary was produced by Eurie Chung, Grace Lee, Nora Chute, and Patty Ahn, with executive production from Morgan Neville, Caitrin Rogers, and James Shin. Creating a film of this scale required not just creative independence, but also permission from HYBE, BTS’s label, for access to archival footage and official music.

“You can’t make a film about BTS without using the music and archival footage,” Lee said. “The support and blessing of the label was something we needed to actually make the film.”

Ahn added:

“We spent a couple of years developing the idea, having a lot of fun, and thinking deeply about what aspects of ARMY we could focus on.”

Ticket Sales and Release Information

Tickets go on sale July 2, giving fans a chance to be part of a cinematic tribute to the fandom that helped shape music history. Whether you’ve been following BTS since their debut in 2013 or just joined the fandom, Forever We Are Young promises to be an unforgettable experience that honors your passion, loyalty, and voice.
