Global P-pop trailblazers SB19 are expanding their international footprint once again—this time through a cross-cultural collaboration with rising Indonesian singer-songwriter Aruma. The two artists are set to release the Indonesian version of SB19’s hit ballad “MAPA” on June 27, 2025.

Announced on June 26, the collaboration adds a fresh interpretation to one of SB19’s most emotional tracks, originally written as a heartfelt tribute to parents. The upcoming version will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major platforms, with pre-save options already live.

A Cross-Border Collaboration That Celebrates Culture and Emotion

This marks a significant move for SB19, who continue to push the boundaries of P-pop’s global reach. Known for their musical versatility and heartfelt lyricism, “MAPA” stands out in their discography as a timeless ballad, and the Indonesian version is expected to bridge fan communities across Southeast Asia.

Aruma, who has built a strong following through her emotional and introspective songwriting, brings a distinctive Indonesian flair to the collaboration. Her debut album Berbunga, released in 2024, featured hits like “Muak” and “Ekspektasi,” further cementing her place in the region’s growing pop scene.

Part of the Simula at Wakas World Tour Momentum

The release comes as SB19 continues their Simula at Wakas World Tour, with recent sold-out shows across the United States, Canada, and upcoming performances in Taipei on June 29. The tour launched with a powerful two-night show at the Philippine Arena, which received acclaim for its emotional depth and world-class production.

In a review by Billboard Philippines, the group’s impact was highlighted:

“Few groups may be able to say that they’ve changed the course of an entire genre, but SB19’s Simula at Wakas kickoff show was a moving reminder of how one group’s vision, grit, and talent have continued to push P-pop onto the world stage.”

Looking Ahead

As fans eagerly await the new version of “MAPA,” this collaboration with Aruma showcases SB19’s dedication to building cultural bridges through music. The Indonesian version not only honors the original’s message but also adapts it to resonate with a broader audience.

With this release, SB19 continues to prove their global relevance, showing that P-pop can thrive and evolve through meaningful collaborations across languages and borders.
