Dara, Pungja, JeA, and Hwangbo Reunite to Honor Late Friend Lee Hee Chul
On June 27, broadcaster Pungja posted a heartfelt photo on her social media, showing a quiet but meaningful reunion with fellow celebrities Sandara Park (Dara), JeA of Brown Eyed Girls, and Hwangbo. The group gathered to remember their dear friend, the late Lee Hee Chul, who tragically passed away earlier this year.
The visit took place at Lee Hee Chul’s family home, where the friends spent the day with his parents and his beloved dogs, Candy and Poongwol. They also tagged his Instagram account in a touching gesture of remembrance.
An Emotional Tribute From Close Friends
Dara shared the same image on her own social media with a heartfelt caption:
“Hee Chul, whom I always miss. I’ll always remember you, my friend. A day spent with your mom, dad, Candy & Poongwol.”
JeA and Hwangbo also commented on the emotional visit:
“A day the table legs broke from all the food,” JeA wrote,
while Hwangbo added, “Thanks to Tori, the imperial alliance of Hwangbo, JeA, Sandara Park, and Pungja (HwangJeSanPung) was formed.”
Remembering Lee Hee Chul
Lee Hee Chul, originally known as a photographer and visual director, later became known to the public as a restaurant owner, YouTuber, and cast member of KBS’s Mr. House Husband 2 in 2023. He built strong friendships with Dara, JeA, and Hwangbo during the show, and their bond extended beyond the screen.
According to Hwangbo, the group had spent seven consecutive Christmases together, demonstrating a deep and lasting connection. Pungja, a later addition to the circle, has since joined in honoring Lee’s memory.
Tragically, Lee passed away on January 7, 2025, due to a sudden myocardial infarction. The devastating news was first shared by Pungja, who posted:
“Our dearly beloved Seoul Salon’s Lee Hee Chul oppa has become a star in the sky today. Please pray that he can go to a better place.”
Following his passing, many in the Korean entertainment industry expressed their sorrow and condolences, recognizing Lee’s contributions and the light he brought to those around him.
